Museum of Authentic Work

When: TBDmaw invite
Where: The Project School, 1145 E. 22nd St., Indianapolis, Indiana

The Museum of Authentic Work (MAW) is an interactive public display of the school’s and children’s work during the course of the study. The MAW acts in concert with The Culminating Event to

celebrate new learning and the growth of each member of the school community. The students serve as docents for visitors to the museum, guiding them through the work of the school and the students, making public the evolution of the new learning that was constructed during the school year. This component is integral to making visible the students’ thinking and understanding, thus creating a culture of thinking and understanding that values the Habits of the Heart, Mind and Voice. The MAW could consist of individual student work, group work, documented conversations and discussions, student portfolios, and many other examples of authentic work from throughout the year. This will be an opportunity for community members to engage in conversation with the students about their work and what the work meant to them. Installations, artifacts, and authentic works will be archived and available digitally.
